To get an A in Section A on the film industry exam, students must demonstrate excellent knowledge of the British and American film industries, engage strongly with the issues, select relevant evidence, interpret materials well, provide their own examples, reference sources accurately, write clearly with a strong voice, and communicate fluently. For Sections B and C, an A requires deep knowledge of films, precise references, developing viewpoints skillfully, using specialist language, strong grasp of narrative and representation, and sophisticated writing.
