also helps you lengthen the life cycle of the products and services, optimize their
quality, reduce risks and implement top-shelf technologies. But the advantages
will not come over night. In this blog we are going to discuss how it happens with
the Hart & Milstein framework for sustainability.
When you use the framework the right way, it will help you to create win-win
approach. It is about making the right decision and driving value creation while
addressing sustainability challenges. Now, there are four key dimensions of
2. sustainability strategy, with several linkages to business performance and value
creation.
The 1st
dimension talks about minimizing the waste and emission of pollution.
Managing cost and reducing risk, drives values for the business. The 2nd
dimension
focuses on product controlling, engaging stakeholders and managing the full life
cycle of your products. Sustainability creates legitimacy and reputation with
external stakeholders which means that you can be differentiate from your
competitors. The 3rd
dimension focuses on clean technology, which is the
developments and deployment of next generation technologies and practices.
Innovating and reposition your business created value as it helps you focus on the
need to continuously adopt. 4th
dimension as base of pyramid is focus on meeting
the unmet needs and the growth of the business.
Waste less - Gain More
Keels always make sure to give fresh vegetables and fruits the consumers. The
shelf stay for all vegetables and fruits are 3 days after that there should be stock
management for the goods which will go out from the shelves.
3. Considering all these Keels has start bakery and a juice bar in all these green
outlets. After 2 days all the vegetables & fruits for its next processing stage. It gives
consumers also to get all their needs sorted under one roof. As the way we do their
bakery stuff, it’s less use of carbon footprint. Since the whole idea of this
supermarket chain is to address the issue of power with solar power. It would
reduce the power consumption and it would definitely a solution for air pollution
as well.
More To Mingle With The Consumers
Consumers are always have faith on Keels but they wanted to make it as a bond
therefore Keels has penetrated to the small cities of the country to set standards to
4. people’s life. Keels has launched their 1st
solar powered outlet in 2017 and from that
to September 2018 it was 42 outlets with 11 solar power units in each outlet which
will generate 5.519Mw power with an expecting generation of approximately
653,000 electricity units (kWh) monthly. The expected generation has the capacity
of power an average of 9200 households per month and will contribute
approximately 35% of the electricity of use within each store. They have reduce
their carbon footprint and set an example as environmental conscious company in
Sri Lanka.
Fresh Products – Happy Customers

The Next Generation Technology
Keels always are the other name for innovation in supermarket industry. It has

They have provided solution for electricity issue. But they haven’t stopped from
there. Keels has started recycle all the plastic bottels from 2012. Protecting
environment is critical today more than ever. That is reason for them to take steps
to minimize the negative impact they could have on the earth. Undoubted,
recycling non-biodegradable materials like plastic can be consider as a significant
contribution towards the effort of creating a better place to live.
Meeting the unmet needs
6. Create a shared roadmap for meeting unmet needs and growth is an essential
dimention of this metrix. That is the main reason for Keels to start collecting fresh
vegetibals and fruits from centers in Thambuttegam, Sooriyawewa, Nuweraeliya,
Jaffna, Sigiriya, Bandarwela and Puttam. These collection centers enhance the lives
of farming families; they are paid the best price they could ever expect for their
goods. Keels always help farmers to expand cultivation. Furthermore, they offer
them the chance for organic produce to the customers by establishing relationship
with over nine certified organic farmers. Keels usually conduct programs to
disseminate knowledge on good agricultural practices and enhance the scientific
approach to sustainable agricultural in collaboration with agricultural department.
7. As a conclusion, indeed Keels have done their part to the environment. Though
haven’t published in media they have done their CSR as a responsible organization
in Sri Lanka. They are to continue with power generation and making Sri Lanka a
better place in the globe. They always have their concerns with the environment
