The document describes an interactive art installation called "ZOR SE BOLO" selected for presentation at the IEEE Proceedings of 4th International Conference on Intelligent Human Computer Interaction in Kharagpur, India in December 2012. The installation aims to present common jargons and idioms spoken in New Delhi through interactive displays at Delhi International Airport Terminal 3. Five commonly used phrases were identified and concepts were developed involving touch and speech as interaction mediums to allow users to relate to characters through audio responses. Two concepts were realized as life-size prototypes using sensors and software.

2. A ABSTRACT
Today, New Delhi with more than 10,000 people speaking
an estimate of 122 languages [1], has led it to enter into a
new kind of multilingual anarchy. The conversational lan-
guage has disintegrated into an array of jargons, idioms,
acronyms, abbreviations, and symbols.
ZOR SE BOLO is an attempt to present the most com-
monly spoken jargons of the capital in the form of interac-
tive installations to be displayed at the Delhi International
Airport (T3 Terminal) with a view of providing a linguistic
tour of the capital.

8. CONCEPTS
D
PHASE 1
“Touch” and “Speech”
were used as interaction
mediums to design an
experience so that
people relate to the indi-
viduals and their lingo
through the audio they
hear after triggering the
installation.
Body language / gestures of the
mannequins in the installations
becomes a metaphor for the
effort to reach out and establish
contact between people of dif-
ferent tongues, from different
cultures
9. CONCEPTS
D
PHASE 2
Selected concepts were
further developed in the
form of scenarios.
Development of persona for every idiom and finalization
of medium of interaction for every installation.
10. Scenario (Installations - “Tu Jaanta Hai Mera Baap Kaun Hai”)
Indra Gandhi Airport, New Delhi People passing by the shopping area Passangers getting attracted to collar
blinking installation
Passanger touches the blinking collar As soon as the passanger touches the
collar, it speaks “tu jaanta hai mera baap
kaun hai”
11. Scenario (Installations - “No Problem Ji”)
Indra Gandhi Airport, New Delhi Installation near the information desk Passangers asking question to the
installation next to information desk
As soon as passenger finishes with his
problem, installation speaks out
‘ No Problem Ji’
12. VISUAL

PROTOTYPES
All 5 concepts were visual proto-
typed in Adobe Illustrator and
Adobe Photoshop. 2 of them
were realized in real.
