PROGRAM
This summer, YWCA Haiti has organized, for the second
year running, a summer camp for 98 girls between the
ages of 8 and 19 that aims to cultivate these young
women’s sense of self-worth, hone their skills, showcase
their talents, and educate them about sexual health. We
have addressed these objectives through a broad range
of fun and educational activities that vary in approach
and complexity according to age groups. Our activities
mainly encompass:
1. Arts & Crafts to allow the girls to explore and
enhance their artistic and creative abilities.
2. Physical Education to instill in the girls the
importance of remaining physically active and
maintaining the body through yoga exercises,
jump roping, and more.
3. Games such as puzzles, dominoes, and cards that
build on the girls’ use of technique, logic, and
teamwork while allowing them to have fun.
4. Forums
 Sexual Health Forums to increase the girls’
awareness of the risks associated with unsafe
sex, to enhance their understanding of what it
means to be sexually active, and to teach them
to be responsible when sexually active.
 Miscellaneous Forums that teach the girls
about other pertinent topics such as gender-
based violence and financial responsibility.
5. Miss Competition to provide the girls with an
opportunity to showcase their natural talents,
utilize their academic knowledge, and refine their
public speaking skills while building their self-
confidence.
