Project Name Wal-Mart stores (Associate Production Operations–Backroom claims)
Description Backroom exists to facilitate the interaction between store operational applications
such as Point of Sale, vendors and the Home Office. Backroom solution provides all
the business processing needed at the store in order for operations to continue without
interruption. SMART operates as the authority housing all the software necessary for
SAM’s clubs and Walmart stores to function.
Home Office (HO) is the central location which is a Mainframe system having the
master data pertaining to all the stores/clubs along with the account payable and
finance details.
SMART – Store Management through Advanced Retail Technology, which is used by
the store associates in store/clubs.
Claims:
The Claims system is to manage the return of merchandise in instances where the
items received from the ware house/Vendor in the store are damaged. The returned
merchandise can be moved to Return center/Vendor /Disposed /Markdown. This
Claim is sent on a daily basis to home office from Walmart Stores /Sams club.
The team supporting the claim systems is the ISD backroom support team.

Responsibilities • Incident management - logging, prioritizing and resolving incidents and track them
against various SLAs.
• Follow up on proper escalations procedures.

• Ensure all nightly production batch trails are completed on time based on SLA
