From Cornerstone Hub:
Dear friends, we need help for the Grove & Wantage Extravaganza, on Sat 20th August. We'd
like the community to know God loves them and we are here to serve them. In particular we
need help to put up our small marquee and arrange displays from 9.30 am until 1.30 pm. Then
we hope to sell drinks and give away cakes/squares during the event. We'd like volunteers for
this in one-hour shifts (around 6 people for each shift). If you could help, please let Sarah Tippett
(sarahtippett@btinternet.com) or the Cornerstone Office (office@cornerstonegrove.org.uk)
know. Thank you and God bless you.
On Sunday 4th
September GFEC celebrates Harvest.
The morning service will be followed by a shared lunch.
The Sunday offering on 4th
September will be dedicated to Tearfund.
The Pilgrims’ Friend Society invite you to join them for a sponsored walk, in
aid of the Framland en-suite project, on Saturday 10th
September. Meeting
10:30 am at Buscot near Faringdon (SN7 8DA). Bring a picnic to eat en-route.
More information and sponsorship forms are available from Dave Pepler via
email: dave.a.pepler@gmail.com
Congratulations to Adrian and Katrina celebrating their 25th

There is a GFEC ‘Fellowship Tea’ at Cornerstone, 3-4pm on Saturday 3rd
September.
Cornerstone will be open exclusively for our use to meet together for fellowship.
The usual Cornerstone tea/coffee/cake selection will be available to purchase.
Everyone is welcome - please bring your friends.
Shout for joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious. Say to
God, ‘How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies cringe before
you. All the earth bows down to you; they sing praise to you, they sing the praises of your
name.’ Come and see what God has done, his awesome deeds for mankind! Psalm 66 vs 1-5
Shoebox Appeal News:
Just like Cornerstone, we are hoping to have a stall at the Grove Extravaganza on August 20th
and need volunteers in the morning to help set up, and to man the stall and pack up during the
afternoon. We shall not be selling anything - just sharing what it is all about - showing the
poorest in Eastern Europe what Christmas truly means. If you can spare an hour please let John
or Margaret know as soon as possible.
The Coffee Morning on Saturday 23rd
July raised over £50 for the Shoebox Appeal - the next one
will be at the Methodist Church - 10-12 noon on Saturday 3rd September.
We are still collecting empty shoeboxes!!
