Your Childhood Home Remembered This was to be an in-class exercise on Thursday, 11/13, but since I am out today, please complete for Tuesday, 11/18. This exercise will help you to understand the concept of floor plans as a way of representing buildings, as well as the intersection between narrative and architecture. · You’ll need a blank sheet of paper and a pen or pencil to complete this assignment. · First, think about a childhood memory (hopefully a happy one!) that took place in your family home. Write a paragraph or two describing the memory, focusing on what you remember about where it took place in your house, and what the space looked like. · Then, draw a floor plan of your home as you remember it (don’t worry about scale!), and label each of the rooms/spaces as they relate to your story. Indicate where the memory takes place, and any movement if there is a sequence of action. .
