York is a historic city located in North Yorkshire, England at the confluence of the Rivers Ouse and Foss. It was founded by the Romans in 71 AD and served as the capital of the Roman province of Britannia Inferior and later the kingdoms of Northumbria and Jorvik. York has a variety of historic attractions, including York Minster, York Castle, and other monuments from medieval to 20th century periods.
