This document defines and provides examples of different types of claims:
1. There are three main types of claims - claims of fact, which state something that is, was, or will be; claims of value, which make judgments about what is good or bad; and claims of policy, which state what should or should not be done.
2. A claim of fact can be verified with evidence and debates whether the statement is true or false. Claims of value express opinions, while claims of policy recommend courses of action to change the status quo.
3. Examples of each type of claim are provided, along with a short quiz to test understanding of the different claim types.
