Moll Flanders by Daniel Defoe tells the story of a woman born into poverty who struggles throughout her life, while Dangerous Liaisons by Choderlos De Laclos depicts the licentious activities of French aristocrats in the late 18th century. The two novels differ in that Dangerous Liaisons uses a epistolary format through letters between characters, whereas Moll Flanders is written in prose style as a story.
