Hello, my name is Gary Smith and I will be your speaker during this approximately 30 minute webinar today. It was only a short 4 years ago, that I like you stumbled upon an opportunity to understand more about the field of internet marketing. Having spent a good portion of my life (over 21 years) working in corporate America, I had found that many of the things I cherished such as job security, spending quality time with my family and being happy with my job responsibilities, were greatly diminished. My interest was to leave the corporate world and find something special that both motivated me, while providing the needed long term security for my family. Most importantly …. I wanted to leave my mark in life doing something I was passionate about. The point I am trying to make here, is that I was like many of you just a short time ago….and now I own a very successful internet services business. I can not tell you how blessed I feel, having made the career change that I did. I promise to not only provide you factual information to show you the opportunities that exist in this profession, but also where appropriate share how this can reinvigorate your own personal life. I’d like to start this presentation , illustrating a few points that will resonate with many of you based on the current economic environment.
So what have we learned: Traditional formula for success does not work! Job Security is a Mirage! Investing in yourself may be the only viable option for wealth creation. Big shifts in the economy reveals big opportunities. Getting involved in a franchise is a good option because of the control, freedom, support, upside potential and proven system it provides. Targeting the largest and fastest growth sector of any economy (namely the Small and Medium Sized Businesses), gives you a target rich environment Statistically companies that proactively market during a downed economy have had a great ROI to their bottom line Prudent and Measurable Internet Marketing spend is in demand NOW. Internet Marketing has experienced double digit growth every quarter over the last 2 years, and continues to do so in the face of a receding economy So where does WSI fit in the mix. WSI stands for We Simplify the Internet. A global franchise with over 1500 offices in 87 countries. Now I mentioned that we deal with mostly small to medium sized businesses but we also deal with large corporations too whether it be companies like Harley Davidson, Harrod’s, Best Buy, Cop Airlines, Lufthansa airlines, Rim, the Blackberry people, DHL, Kodak, Telus, and the list goes on and on and on. But still, the majority of our business is dealing the the small to medium sized corporations.
No previous notes. So in looking at some of the other things you can do to succeed, is our complete training. We’ve got six weeks of online training, which really prepares you for the 7 days you’ll have in the Toronto home office. In this six weeks, it gets everybody on a level playing field so they have a very good understanding of what their daily objectives will be, what their missions are, how they are going to tackle this industry but when they get here we’re going to teach them how to make the rubber meet the road. As soon as they finish their seven days of training, the first thing that’s going to happen is they’re going to be hooked up with their QSP coach, which is your Quick Start Program coach. That person is there for the next 90 days to ensure that you develop the right habits to get your business up and running right out of the gate so that you don’t falter. It’s going to help you achieve the results that you want by creating the right day to day habits. Now the next thing that you’ll notice there is the mentor program. This is something that we started to test a couple of years ago, last year it really became a very prominent part of every new franchisee’s life as soon as they leave training. In 2007, it was something that about 25 to 30 percent of the franchisees were using. The one thing we noticed with the mentor program is that it changes the value that is brought to the end client and it changes the amount of dollars that are being brought to the actual franchisee. If you remember a few slides ago, I mentioned the average markup of 543 percent- with a mentor being in play, we’ve noticed that we get away from the markup mentality and now you’re addressing the value mentality when it comes to pricing. So it’s value pricing versus markup pricing and that is a huge difference. A mentor truly understands the value that you bring to the client and they truly understand the value of what they have in their hands to bring to that end client. With WSI, franchisees are able to purchase products and services at such a minimal fee that sometimes they feel guilty about marking it up to where its true value is whereas a mentor knows you will generate x number of dollars this year that they will be happy to pay us x number of dollars for it and we get away from that markup mentality and move into a value pricing mentality. We believe in this program so much and it’s carved out such great results that as of January 1 st , 2009, it has now become mandatory after the results we saw in 2008. Also, we continually train you. We’ve got our coffee breaks each and every week where we have online presentations to be able to bring you up to speed, keep you abreast of the latest and greatest things that are happening in the B & E industry, our products and services that are coming directly from WSI.

Well, we talked about the e-marketplace and in the e-marketplace, all of our suppliers, all of our services are there and we’ll just touch on a couple today. There’s over 40 suppliers in the e-marketplace and you can learn more about that if you speak with the person who invited you on this call but we’ve got experts in every field, people who can do anything from search engine optimization for your clients. You’re going to learn how to do all this but it’s not necessary for you to have to do all this. There’s copywriters, there’s experts in pay per click campaigns, we’ve got production centers and solutions centers that will create all the internet solutions for you. All these things are in place for you to focus on what makes you the most money and our objective is making sure you are focusing on how to get new clients. This is why one of the first things we put into place is lead generation partners. Lead generation partners are there to help you identify your clients, they’re the ones that will actually set up the appointments for you so that you simply go in and start with the Lifecycle with the discovery stage. We believe that the more time you can spend identifying or working with new and potential clients, the better it is for you and obviously for us also. That’s why you’ve got to have the ability to pass certain aspects of this off, whether it be the search engine optimization campaigns, pass it off to the experts. Yes, you know how to do it, but you make more money being out there, getting new clients. Pay per click campaigns, yes you now how to do it but focusing on clients is where you will generate the most income and increase your royalty revenue, your recurring revenues. So all these things are in place for you to benefit from so take advantage of them

So, in summary, it’s all about an investment of about 50 thousand where you are in a situation where you have no overhead, there’s no warehousing, it’s not a matter of stocking shelves, it’s not a matter of continually staffing and re-staffing, it’s not a matter of having a huge lease on buildings.

You’ve got to start with the foundation, the subfloor, the two by four, then the roof trusses, then the sheeting, then the shingles and then at the end of that you step back and say, “this is the house that I want to move into.” But some people get a little impatient and say, “fine, just show me the shingles and show me the roof trusses, and I can make a decision.”, when you can’t make a decision. You do yourself the favor of getting all the information before making a final decision and that has to go with any business that you’re looking at.
