10 RMc Creative Writing Portfolio Task
                              Term Two 2009




_______________________________________________________________

This term we will be studying five different genres of Creative Writing.

We will read different stories and poems and appreciate the stories and the
verbal language techniques that the writers have used.

Once we understand the tools used, we will then use those skills to produce a
piece of work in the same genre. These finished pieces of work will be put
inside our portfolio folders.

At the end of the term, the five pieces of work will be marked by their: ideas,
style, structure and control of writing. The assessment Schedule is below.

                                         Proof-reading/spelling, grammar, punctuation

                                         purpose and text type.

                                         Paragraphed.

                                         Some errors.
Achievement with Merit                   Develops ideas with detail.

                                         Uses a controlled writing style appropriate to
                                         audience, purpose and text type.

                                         Clearly paragraphed.

                                         Few or no errors
Achievement with Excellence              Develops ideas convincingly with detail.

                                         Uses a controlled writing style appropriate to
                                         audience, purpose and text type and which
                                         commands attention.

                                         Paragraphed clearly and effectively.

                                         No errors
