Holi is a Hindu festival celebrated in spring that commemorates good triumphing over evil. The story describes a king who wanted everyone to worship only him, but his nephew Prahlad worshipped the god Vishnu instead. Despite many attempts, the king could not kill Prahlad. On the day of Holika, the king's sister who was fireproof, took Prahlad into a bonfire but was burned herself while Prahlad survived unharmed. Hindus now light bonfires and throw colored powders and water at each other to celebrate Prahlad's victory over evil.
