Peace Corps volunteers in Ethiopia organized a three-day training summit called the Action for Gender Equality Summit. The summit trained select Ethiopian youth and Peace Corps volunteers. Activities included having students run in a 5K race open only to women, participate in discussions about gender roles and norms, and do activities like household chores to experience gender expectations. The goal was to empower students, especially girls, and equip them to promote gender equality in their communities. Over 40 Ethiopian students and 27 Peace Corps volunteers participated in the summit.
