The Brazilian wandering spider is one of the most dangerous spiders in the world. It can grow up to 5 inches long with legs spanning over 1.5 inches. This spider eats a variety of small prey including crickets, insects, lizards, and even mice.
I was assigned a project in school to pick a "perplexing question" from a list of 20(things like Is there a real Dracula?, and Do fish drink water?), answer it, then present the answer to the class in a creative way. I chose "Can it really rain frogs?" and decided to make a powerpoint about it.
The grasshopper and ant story is one most of us have heard at some point or the other. Although its purpose is to teach us the value of hard-work, it also brings to light the nature of the determined ant.
Fleas are small, wingless insects that feed on the blood of mammals and birds. They have mouthparts adapted for piercing skin and sucking blood. Fleas go through four life stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. Common flea species include the cat flea, dog flea, human flea, and various rat fleas.
Poison dart frogs are small frogs found in South American rainforests. They come in many bright colors and produce toxic skin secretions as a defense mechanism. Poison dart frogs live in the warm, humid rainforest and feed on small insects like fruit flies. Females lay eggs under large leaves where males fertilize them, and the tadpoles later hatch.
Fleas are small, wingless insects that feed exclusively on the blood of mammals and birds. They belong to the order Siphonaptera. Fleas have mouthparts adapted for piercing skin and sucking blood. The flea life cycle consists of eggs, larvae, pupae, and adult stages. There are several medically important flea species that can be distinguished based on the presence and structure of combs on their heads and thoraxes.
This document provides information about cockroaches and disease-carrying true bugs. It discusses the biology and life cycles of common cockroach species and their medical importance, describing how they can transmit pathogens and cause allergies. Details are given on identifying features and control methods for major bug types, including bed bugs and kissing bugs that transmit Chagas disease. The kissing bugs section focuses on the Triatoma genus, their role as vectors of Trypanosoma cruzi, and epidemiology of Chagas disease in the Americas.

Cockroaches are among the most important pest of households and
commercial establishments.
2) Cockroaches are oval in outline, body usually flattened, head partially or entirely concealed beneath pronotal shield. Front wings lathery with veins, although veins may be reduced. Antennae long and threadlike. Abdominal cerci usually long, not forceps-like. Tarsi 5-segmented. Mouth part chewing.
Benthic macroinvertebrates are bottom-dwelling aquatic organisms without backbones. They are useful indicators of stream health because they are abundant, diverse, sedentary, and reflect cumulative environmental impacts. Various metrics related to the types of macroinvertebrates present are used to calculate a Benthic Index of Biological Integrity (B-IBI) score that indicates the overall biological condition of a stream. A higher B-IBI score, with more diverse and pollution-intolerant taxa, corresponds to better stream health.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
