The World Top 20 Education Poll provides annual rankings of the top 20 education systems out of 209 nations based on 5 criteria: early childhood enrollment rates, elementary/middle/high school test scores, and college graduation rates. South Korea ranked #1 in 2016 with the highest scores in early childhood enrollment and elementary/middle school levels as well as high college graduation rates. Japan and Russia followed as #2 and #3, respectively. The report lists the top 20 countries, their scores on each criterion, and current head of government.

The World Top 20 Education Poll provides annual international rankings of the top 20
education systems out of 209 nations.
The ranking system mission is to identify the nations that provide the best learning
environment for student’s 3 to 25. The poll also recognizes each nation’s top Government
leader.
How Each Country is Ranked:
Each country’s ranking is based on five educational levels: early-childhood enrollment
rates, Elementary Math, Science and Reading scores, Middle-School Math, Science and
Reading scores, High School Graduation rates, and College Graduation rates.
Each level consists of ranking the top 20 countries by giving a country 20 points for a first
place rank, 19 for a second place rank, and so on down to 1 point for a twenty rank. The
data is then used to produce the nation’s ranking from a combined score from all 5 levels.

The Effects of School Related Gender-Based Violence

This study examines the impact of weekly bullying on academic performance in Botswana, Ghana, and South Africa using data from international standardized tests. The key findings are: 1) Weekly bullying was found to negatively impact reading, math, and science test scores in all three countries. The negative effects were larger for girls than boys. 2) Rural students and those from poorer economic backgrounds experienced greater negative impacts from bullying on academic performance compared to their urban and wealthier peers. 3) Causality tests suggest bullying causes lower academic achievement, rather than academic performance causing bullying. Addressing bullying is important to improve education outcomes.

Family and school are nowadays the contexts of development and education par excellence. The importance that these educational environments have on the development of children and the relationships established between the family and school are crucial in the development of children. The aim of the research was to study how and what occurs here understand how the first transition, the transition from the home environment to education. The term transition is used in sociology to describe any significant movement either in the school setting (the move from kindergarten to primary education, primary to secondary education or high school to college would also be valid examples) or in other areas of peoples life (like the school to work transition). In particular, the transition from home to school environment is an important milestone in the life of people as is also linked to other maturational stages and life events such as the development of autonomy and socialization with other significant. Therefore the transition from the home environment to the school system is an important event both for individuals and for families. The growing diversification of early age (0-3 years) care facilities on the one hand, and the (often) strong link of these facilities to the further education track on the other hand mean that parents have more choice but also responsibility regarding the education of their children (Fernandez Esquinas, 2004). Moreover, many of these decisions have to be taken already by choosing the early care center. These choices are, however, conditioned by various social factors such as economic, social and cultural resources of the families (Glaesser and Cooper, 2013; Olmedo and Santa Cruz, 2011; ). The current study aims at understanding the role of family diversity in shaping their selection of external care facilities or kindergarten. Te central research questions of the study are: in which grounds do families differ in choosing kindergarten? And if so, do those differences relate to specific parental profiles? The study analyses original data coming from the project "Parental Models and Educational Demands" and was collected through 18 early care centers and compiled data from families that have enrolled their children (0-3 years old) in early day care centers or kindergarten in the city of Valencia, Spain. In the study 250 families participated in answering a questionnaire and providing information about their parenting styles and educational demands.

PISA 2012 is the programme’s 5th survey. It assessed the competencies of 15-year-olds in reading, mathematics and science (with a focus on mathematics) in 65 countries and economies. Around 510 000 students between the ages of 15 years 3 months and 16 years 2 months participated in the assessment, representing about 28 million 15-year-olds globally. The students took a paper-based test that lasted 2 hours. The tests were a mixture of open-ended and multiple-choice questions that were organised in groups based on a passage setting out a real-life situation. A total of about 390 minutes of test items were covered. Students took different combinations of different tests. They and their school principals also answered questionnaires to provide information about the students' backgrounds, schools and learning experiences and about the broader school system and learning environment.

IFPRI organized a two day workshop on “Agricultural Extension Reforms in South Asia – Status, Challenges, and Policy Options” to be organized at Committee Room 3, NASC, Pusa, New Delhi on February 17-18, 2015. IFPRI has been conducting research related to agricultural extension reforms in India and collaborating with researchers in other south Asian countries for the past five years through various projects. For understanding extension reforms in India, a major consultation was held in NAARM in 2009 during which policy makers called for development of evidence for spreading extension reform process in India. Since then several research papers have been produced on various aspects of Indian extension system. While they are presented in various forms including several discussion papers, there is a need to pull all the research result together to present it in form that could be used by the policy makers to further guide them in the reform process. South Asian countries such as Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka are going through similar challenges in getting knowledge to farmers. Several experiment shave been conducted to test new approaches to extension by the public, private and NGO sectors. Learning from each country experiences will bring collective understanding and knowledge for the policy makers who are attempting to bring changes in the reform process. The purpose of this workshop is to bring together a groups of researchers, analysts and policy makers to present the issues, constraints and challenges facing agricultural extension reforms that are being implemented in South Asian countries.

It shows what steps three universities in Australia, Denmark and Canada have taken to reform their curricula to support regional growth and innovation: 1) Design programmes that widen access to and improve success in education in Victoria University, Australia, 2) Develop transferable skills: Problem-based learning in Aalborg, Denmark, and 3) Develop relevant skills: Co-operative Education, the University of Waterloo, Canada. 2. The World Top 20 Education Poll provides annual international rankings of the top 20 education systems out of 209 nations. The ranking system mission is to identify the nations that provide the best learning environment for student’s 3 to 25. The poll also recognizes each nation’s top Government leader. How Each Country is Ranked: Each country’s ranking is based on five educational levels: early-childhood enrollment rates, Elementary Math, Science and Reading scores, Middle-School Math, Science and Reading scores, High School Graduation rates, and College Graduation rates. Each level consists of ranking the top 20 countries by giving a country 20 points for a first place rank, 19 for a second place rank, and so on down to 1 point for a twenty rank. The data is then used to produce the nation’s ranking from a combined score from all 5 levels. The 2016 results are:
