EACH GROUP WILL HAVE A
MARK BASED ON
HOW INTERESTING AND
INTERACTIVE THEIR 10 minute
WORKSHOP IS
ORGANISE AN UNFORGETTABLE WORKSHOP
► Forget

the power point. Use flip chart paper and
coloured marker pens, and hang the sheets
around the walls. This enables delegates to be far
more dynamic and creative than modern
technology media. Bring in props.
► A workshop involves a great degree of attendee
participation, interaction, and INTERESTING,
hands-on, FUN exercises. Interaction means role-plays, quizzes, games, physical activity...
HOW TO PROCEED
 Main points – Create a list of main points of your
subject, and then break down each larger point into
details that you want to communicate to your audience.
 Aids – List the visual aids and physical aids you'll use
for each point.
 Activities – Take time to list exactly which group
activities you'll have at which point in the workshop.
How much time will you allow for each exercise? Make
sure your activities are appropriate for the size of the
group, and ensure that the classroom has the room and
resources you need.
During the Workshop – Getting People Involved.
There are four of you, so there are four activities
during your workshop
► Once

you have a solid advance plan, figure
out how to bring some excitement into your
event. You know the topics that you want to
cover, but how will you make the
information fun and memorable for the
class? Which activities will you get them
doing?
Begin with a hook that involves
everyone.
► Getting

everyone involved is key to starting
a successful workshop. If you stand up and
talk for half an hour, you're just giving a
lecture – not facilitating a workshop.
Everyone needs to participate. Get people
moving around.
