We are people called by God to share the gospel and grow in faith. Leaders serve by planting seeds of faith and nurturing believers, but it is God alone who causes spiritual growth. While leaders have different roles, they work as one for the same purpose. Believers must take care how they build upon the foundation of faith laid by leaders, growing in spiritual maturity through God's enabling power.
5. 1 Corinthians 3:1–10
1 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual
men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ. 2 I
gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not
yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet
able, 3 for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy
and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you
not walking like mere men? 4 For when one says, “I am
of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not
mere men? 5 What then is Apollos? And what is Paul?
6. Servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord
gave opportunity to each one. 6 I planted, Apollos
watered, but God was causing the growth. 7 So then
neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is
anything, but God who causes the growth. 8 Now he
who plants and he who waters are one; but each will
receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9 For
we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s
building. 10 According to the grace of God which was
given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a
foundation, and another is building on it. But each man
must be careful how he builds on it.

Ezekiel's vision
27. 1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and He brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD
and set me down in the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones. 2 He caused me
to pass among them round about, and behold, there were very many on the surface of
the valley; and lo, they were very dry. 3 He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones
live?” And I answered, “O Lord GOD, You know.” 4 Again He said to me, “Prophesy over
these bones and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.’ 5 “Thus says
the Lord GOD to these bones, ‘Behold, I will cause breath to enter you that you may
come to life. 6 ‘I will put sinews on you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with
skin and put breath in you that you may come alive; and you will know that I am the
LORD.’ ” 7 So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise,
and behold, a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to its bone. 8 And I looked,
and behold, sinews were on them, and flesh grew and skin covered them; but there
was no breath in them. 9 Then He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son
of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Come from the four winds, O
breath, and breathe on these slain, that they come to life.” ’ ” 10 So I prophesied as He
commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they came to life and stood on
their feet, an exceedingly great army.
