Work immersion is a 10-day program with no more than 8 hours per day or 80 hours total that provides learners opportunities to familiarize themselves with the workplace through employment simulation and applying their skills in an authentic work environment. Students in Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC II and Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II programs will complete their work immersion at metal fabrication shops, construction sites, shipyards, workshop offices or laboratories.
