2. Explanation and use of this word circle diagram: During an actual classroom
lesson, I would have walked all students through the project, first by showing a
finished example and then by walking the class through it as a group. Individual
students would then be able to pick a word, draw the diagram, and complete the
activity by themselves. Some special education students (and others who like to
pretend that they are special ed students) take a long time to process charts that
are on the overhead. I would keep a few printed-out copies of this on hand as
working examples for my struggling students so they wouldn't have to draw the
map as well. As additional information, all the other students would have to put
three antonyms and three synonyms. The students doing this version would only
have to put one of each.
