- This isn’t a discussion about these books, but the issues they raise and the cultural discussion around them
- Certainly, there is a cultural “something” going on. A Google image search for “working women” shows 3 cultural options: bad mommies, sex object CEOs, screaming and frustrated. And I won’t even talk about the April 2012 Newsweek cover.
- There are only 19 female CEOs in the Fortune 500, and the average female CEO makes 33 cents on every dollar a male CEO makes
- You can look at the graph or look around you to know that the presence of women in engineering is small – and not much improved over the past 10 years.
