The document compares and contrasts how women are portrayed and treated in Islam, Judaism, and Christianity based on their holy texts. It finds that in the Quran, women are presented equally to men and are not blamed for original sin like in the Bible. The Quran also grants women many rights like education, inheritance, testifying in court, and keeping their own money after marriage. While some Muslim societies today do not always follow the Quran's noble teachings about women, Islam aims to perfect previous messages and establish equality.

what the holy Quran says about Muslim women, how prophet Mohammed(saw) treated Muslim women ,what are the traditions which emphasizes the high status of Muslim women in Islam.
Shedding light on the status of the women in Islam, this book explains that women were ill-treated and humiliated in many cultures and how Islam put an end to all this injustice, gave women their proper status.
The True Status of Women in Islam. The veil and its meaning in Islam and the Judeo-Christian tradition, as well as a brief look at the Islamic stance towards women. The concept of veiling in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
The status of women in Islam, is an issue that is pertinent in present times; both due to the divergence of cultural practices in the Muslim world from the Islamic perspective and the erroneous perception in the West, that Islam subjugates womenfolk.
A dispassionate study of the primary sources of Islam, along with an analysis of the position of women in societies where
Islam was implemented, actually proves that for women Islam is a special blessing.
“Prior to Islam," write the authors of The Cultural Atlas of Islam, "a woman was regarded by her parents as a threat to family honor and hence worthy of burial alive at infancy. As an adult, she was a sex object that could be bought, sold and inherited. From this position of inferiority and legal incapacity, Islam raised women to a position of influence and prestige in family and society."
The rights and responsibilities of women are equal to those of men but they are not necessarily identical. This difference is understandable because men and women are different, in their physiological and psychological make-up. With this distinction in mind, there is no room for a Muslim to imagine that women are inferior to men. Thus it is perhaps more apt to refer to the Islamic approach on gender relations, as one of "equity" rather than the commonly used word "equality", which could be misunderstood to mean equality in every minute aspect of life, rather than overall equality.
The Spiritual Aspect
The sacred text of the Glorious Qur'an and the history of early Muslims bear witness to the fact that women are considered as vital to life as men.
Islam refuted the idea that Eve tempted Adam to disobey God, and thus caused his downfall. The Qur'an says that they both disobeyed, and negates the idea that women are a source of evil.
In a world where women were no more than objects of sexual gratification for men, and at a time when the religious circles argued over whether women were human or not, possessing souls, Islam proclaimed:
"O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female."
[Al-Qur'an 49:13]
"O Mankind! Reverence your Guardian-Lord, Who created you from a single person, created of like nature his mate, from them scattered countless men and women. Fear Allah, through whom you demand your mutual rights and reverence the wombs (that bore you), for Allah ever watches over you."
[Al-Qur'an 4:1]
Men and women are of the same family, and as such have similar rights and duties, and their Lord promises them in the Glorious Qur'an:
"Never will I waste the work of a worker among you, whether male or female, the one of you being from the other."
[Al-Qur'an 3:195]
Thus, in the Islamic tradition, a woman has an independent identity. She is a responsible being in her own right and carries the burden of her moral and spiritual obligations.
The Social Aspect
Women have as much right to education as men do. Almost fourteen centuries ago, Prophet Muhammad (p)1 declared that the pursuit of knowledge is incumbent on every Muslim, male and female. This declaration was very clear and was largely implemented by Muslims throughout history.
Islam elevated the position of women in society and treated them on an equal footing with men, and in some cases, as a mother for instance, clearly gave them precedence over men. Thus when a man asked Prophet Muhammad (p): "Who is most entitled to be treated with the best companionship by me?" the Prophet (p) replied, "Your mother." The man asked, "Who is next?" The Prophet (p) said, "Your mother." Again the man asked, "Who is next?" The Prophet (p) repeated, "Your mother." The man asked for a fourth time, "Who is next?" The Prophet (p) then replied, "Your father."2
On another occasion, when a man came to the Prophet (p), and expressed the desire to join a military expedition, the Prophet (p) asked him if he had a mother. When he replied that he had, the Prophet (p) advised him, "Stay with her, for Paradise is at her feet."3

Are Women Second-Class Citizens in Islam.pptxShaikhMustafaN
What does Islam say about women's roles?
Men are providers for women and in exchange for support, women should be obedient and serve their husbands. They should keep their virginity and after marriage, loyalty, chastity and complete dedication to their husbands are prerequisite for securing maintenance. Women are seen as weak and as easily overpowered by men.
The Messenger of Allaah (SAW) said. “All of this world is a utility and
the best utility is a righteous wife.”
The Messenger of Allaah (SAW) said, “Four things are from properity:
a righteous woman, a spacious dwelling, a righteous neighbour, and
an agreeable riding beast; and four things are from adversity: an evil
neighbour, an evil woman, a bad riding beast and a cramped
dwelling.”
The Messenger of Allaah (SAW) said, “...Let one of you possess a heart
which is thankful, a tongue which makes mention of Allaah, and a
believing wife who helps one of you upon the affairs of the
Hereafter.”
Woman in Islam
by Sir Muhammad Zafrulla Khan, (ra)
In many societies, a woman is still regarded as a second-class citizen and deprived of various basic rights enjoyed by the male population. Deeply resenting this discrimination, they have championed a fight to obtain for themselves an equal status which unfortunately to date eludes them in the more modern Western states. Whereas the pendulum has swung to the extremes and has opened the way to licentiousness in the modern society, the West has often regarded Islamic women as being backward in a male-dominated world.
On the contrary, Islam was the first religion formally to grant the women a status never known before. The Holy Quran, the sacred scripture of Islam, contains hundreds of teachings, which apply both to men and women alike. The moral, spiritual and economic equality of men and women as propagated by Islam is unquestionable. The specific verses of the Holy Quran, which address themselves to men or women, deal with either their physical differences or the role they each have to play in safeguarding the moral fibre of the society Islam envisages.
This short booklet, largely based on the original Quranic teachings, deals with the rights enjoyed by Muslim women, the diversity of their functions as Islam sees it, the concepts of marriage, divorce and polygamy and how social and moral values are preserved in Islam. I am particularly grateful to Muhammad Zafrulla Khan for writing a treatise on a subject so misunderstood by the West.

The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

2. 11--IntroductionIntroduction
Almost all Moslim
societies have
deviated from the
ideals of Islam with
respect to the status
of women , also
some people mix
Islam with traditions,
therefore the
behavior of some
nominal followers of
Islam is misleading.
This presentation is
dedicated to declare
what is stated in Quraan
about women in
comparison with the
vision of the followers of
both Judaism and
Christianity , as we -as
muslims- believe that the
original books of both
relegions are distorted ,
and of course we do
believe that all religions
stem from one source.
3. In Judaism and Christianity ,
when god rebuked Adam
for what he did ,Adam puts
all his blame on Hawwaa .
He said:
"The woman you put here
with me , .....she gave me
some fruit from the tree
and I ate it".
2-Eve's Fault?
God created both Adam and Hawwaa (Eve) . All religions
agree for that , but after that , we have some difference:
4. In Quraan we find another
concept , in several places , for
example:
اية الرعراف23
7:23
They said, "Our Lord, we have
wronged ourselves, and ifYou
do not forgive us and have
mercy upon us, we will surely
be among the losers."
5. The Quraan , contrary to the bible ,The Quraan , contrary to the bible ,
places equal blame on both Adamplaces equal blame on both Adam
and Eve for their mistake , there isand Eve for their mistake , there is
not even the slightest hint that Evenot even the slightest hint that Eve
tempted Adam to eat from the treetempted Adam to eat from the tree
or ate before him , so in Quraan ,or ate before him , so in Quraan ,
Eve is not a deceiverEve is not a deceiver..
6. In the Old Testament
we find:
"While I was still searching
but not finding , I found one
upright man among a
thousand , but not one
upright woman among them
all".
)Ecclesiastes 7:28(
3-Eve's Legacy
The image of Eve as temptress in the written Bible has resulted
in an extremely negative impact on women thoughout the
Judio-Christian tradition . All women were believed to have
inherited from their mother , Eve , her guilt.
7. While we find
in Quraan:
And Allah presents an example of those who believed: the
wife of Pharaoh, when she said, "My Lord, build for me near
You a house in Paradise and save me from Pharaoh and his
deeds and save me from the wrongdoing people.“
And [the example of] Mary, the daughter of 'Imran, who
guarded her chastity, so We blew into [her garment]
through Our angel, and she believed in the words of her
Lord and His scriptures and was of the devoutly obedient.
اية التحريم12,13
8. The Quraan never says that noThe Quraan never says that no
upright woman have ever existed ,upright woman have ever existed ,
to the contrary , the Quraan hasto the contrary , the Quraan has
instructed all the believers , womaninstructed all the believers , woman
as well as men , to follow theas well as men , to follow the
example of those ideal women suchexample of those ideal women such
as Virgin Mary and the Pharaoh'sas Virgin Mary and the Pharaoh's
wifewife..
9. Catholic Bible states:
"The birth of a daughter is a
loss"
4-Shameful Daughters?
In the written Bible , a daughter is considered a painful burden.
10. While the Quraan
makes no distinction
between boys and
girls .The Quraan
considers the birth of a
female as a gift and a
blessing from God , the
same as the birth of a
male .The Quraan even
mentions the gift of a
female birth first:
To Allah belongs the dominion of the
heavens and the earth; He creates
what he wills. He gives to whom He
wills female [children], and He gives to
whom He wills males.
اية الشورى49
11. We find in the New
Testament:
"Women should remain
silent in the churches , they
are not allowed to speak ,
but must be in submission
as the law says . If they want
to inquire about something ,
they should ask their own
husbands at home".
5-Female Education
The Bible and the Quraan have extremely different attitudes to
female who tries to learn her religion.
12. In Quraan , one short story
narrated sums up the position of
the woman in Islam concisely:
When Khawla , the Muslim
woman , came to the prophet to
plead her case in (Al Zihar
accident ) she kept arguing with
the prophet until her plea was
accepted , the devine verdict
abolished this pagan custom , and
the chapter revealed on the
prophet was named after her " Al
Mujadala " means " the woman
who is arguing" .
Certainly has Allah heard the speech of
the one who argues with you, [O
Muhammad], concerning her husband
and directs her complaint to Allah .And
Allah hears your dialogue; indeed,Allah
is Hearing and Seeing.
اية المجادلة1
How can a woman grow intellectually if she is obliged to
be in a state of full submission?
13. So , the woman in the QuranicSo , the woman in the Quranic
conception has the right to argueconception has the right to argue
and no one has the right to instructand no one has the right to instruct
her to keep silent or to ask herher to keep silent or to ask her
husband instead of asking the jurist ,husband instead of asking the jurist ,
and this considered to be the wayand this considered to be the way
for learningfor learning..
14. The Rabbis justify why
women cannot bear
witness by citing
Genesis 18:9-16
where it is stated that Sara
(may Allah be pleased with
her ) , wife of Abraham
(peace and blessing may be
upon him ) had lied.
6-Bearing Witness
It is true that the Quraan has instructed the believers dealing in
financial transaction to get two male witnesses or one male and
two females ,on the other hand , women were not allowed to
bear witness in early Jewish society
15. In contrast to
this accusation ,
the Quraan
praises Sara: They said, "Are you amazed at the
decree of Allah ? May the mercy of
Allah and His blessings be upon you,
people of the house. Indeed, He is
Praiseworthy and Honorable."
اية هود73
It should be noted here that a similar story mentioned in
Quraan without any hint of any lies by Sara (AP( .
16. The Talmud describes the
financial situation of a wife as
follows:
"How can a woman have
anything whatever it hers
belong to her husband ? ,
what is his is his and what
is hers is also his".
7-Wife's Property
The three religions share a belief in the importance of marriage
and family life , and agree on the leadership of the husband
over his family . Nonetheless , differences do appear among
Judio-Christianity and Islam about the limits of this leadership.
17. But Islam , since the seventh
century , has granted married
woman the independent
personality .The gift from the
groom to the bride is
considered her property and
neither the groom nor her
family have a control over it
,the Quraan states:
And give the women [upon
marriage] their [bridal] gifts
graciously. But if they give up
willingly to you anything of it,
then take it in satisfaction and
ease.
اية النساء4
18. Also , the woman is not a property to beAlso , the woman is not a property to be
inherited , as stated in Quraaninherited , as stated in Quraan::
O you who have believed, it is not lawful for you to inherit
women by compulsion. And do not make difficulties for them in
order to take [back] part of what you gave them unless they
commit a clear immorality. And live with them in kindness. For if
you dislike them - perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes
therein much good.
اية النساء19
19. to the contrary , the Old
Testament frequently attest to
the legality of polygamy:
King Solomon-whose said to
be a prophet in Quraan- said
to have 700 wives , also king
Dawood-whose also a
prophet- is said to have too
many wives (Samuel 5:13(
8-Polygamy
Polygamy is a very ancient practice found in many human
societies .The Bible did not condemn polygamy.
20. Father Eugene Hillman in his
insightful book said:
"Nowhere in the New
Testament is there any explicit
commandment that marriage
should be monogamous or
any explicit commandment
forbidden polygamy".
What about polygamy in the new testament?
21. In the Quraan we find this
verse:
And if you fear that you will not
deal justly with the orphan girls,
then marry those that please you
of [other] women, two or three
or four. But if you fear that you
will not be just, then [marry
only] one or those your right
hand possesses.That is more
suitable that you may not incline
[to injustice].
اية النساء3
22. The Quraan too , allowed polygamy , butThe Quraan too , allowed polygamy , but notnot
without restrictionswithout restrictions . The Quraan limits the. The Quraan limits the
maximum number of wives tomaximum number of wives to fourfour under the strictunder the strict

It should be understood that the Quraan isIt should be understood that the Quraan is notnot

polygamy is considered as an ideal , in other words ,polygamy is considered as an ideal , in other words ,

24. The fact is that there are two directions in muslimThe fact is that there are two directions in muslim
