- My is Patrick Schueffel I am a professor at the School of Management Firbourg in Switzerland I live here in Singapore with my wife and two children and our dog
- Before moving to Singapore I had a year long career in banking in Switzerland: at Credit Suisse and later served as the Chief Operating Officer of Saxobank Swiitzerland Always stayed connected to the academic world, became an adjunct professor at the School of Management, Fribourg in Siwtzerland
- It started in 2012 when a friend of me first showed me Bitcoin that he bought As no user friendly and reliable wallets were exsiting, he printed out the private keys on strips of paper – each worth no more than USD 10.- Each strip was one bitcoin. I shrugged it off as nonsense But ever since I kept a close eye on technology and how it may affect the world of banking and finance I followed this passion as the head of Innovation for CS’ division «Investment Services and Products» and as an academic I have even built a lego blockchain, attempting to my children, what the blockchain is.
- Having known Ben for more than a year now and following his project closely, I am proud that Ben asked me to join the WOLOT team You now may wonder what my vision for the WOLOT Ecosytem is.
- My vision for the WOLOT ecosystem is this! What do we see here? Yes, an ecosystem. But if we look closely, we can identify many ecosystems tied together, We see foxes and ducks, Large fishes and small fishes A deer on field But in the end it’s many ecosystems integrated in one large one
- We used to have company – client nucleus This extended into a company-specific ecosystem Other company-specific ecosystems emerged One of the ecosystems could be a Car dealership with suppliers for tires, with clients, with advertiser etc. One could be a restaurant with food suppliers, with equipment providers, with guests One could be an insurance company with suppliers who provide offices, with clients One could be a farm with suppliers delivering fertilizer, water and machinery, buyers purchasing agricultural goods One could be a kindergarten employing teachers, buying games and furniture from suppliers,
- Link up the car dealership with the insurer The restaurant with the farmer The kindergarten with the carpenter But let’s also tied together The carpenter with the farmer The farmer with the car dealer The restaurant with the insurance The Kindergarten with the restaurant Lets
- By doing so WOLOT will break the existing data monopolies But this will only work if we do it In a DECENTRALIZED FASHION TRUSTWORTHILY and TO THE BENEFIT OF ALL MEMBERS OF THE ECOSYSTEM
