Direct Push technology sends e-mail messages as they arrive. Seamless synchronization between your PC and your Windows Mobile phone through Windows Mobile Device Center for Windows Vista or Active Sync for Windows XP. QWERTY keyboards make it easy to create e-mail messages and text messages, edit documents, or create new contacts or calendar appointments. Create up to six different e-mail accounts, including Windows Live Hotmail, in addition to an Exchange e-mail account. Mobile versions of genuine Microsoft products like Excel, Word and PowerPoint all work on your Windows Mobile phone. Windows Mobile is an extension of the experience that customers are already familiar with. Search the Web, check stocks, weather or get directions with Internet Explorer Mobile Windows Mobile phones are secure! Prevent unwanted calls by PIN protecting the SIM card and sensitive information on your phone. Encrypt your storage card to keep others from reading your files. I’m all business

Getting back to business, and accomplishing more than before, was never so easy. Take the Office with You There is so much more that you can do with a phone that runs Windows. • Be more productive with mobile versions of Microsoft® Office Word, Excel®, and PowerPoint®. • Use Excel Mobile to view and edit spreadsheets when you’re away from your desk. • Use Word Mobile to review documents while you’re on the go. • Practice and view your slides with PowerPoint Mobile while you’re on the road. Respond in Minutes, Not Hours Clients want answers right away, but that can be difficult for small-business professionals who spend most of their time away from their desk or the office. • Get Direct Push e-mail with Microsoft Exchange Server or Windows Live™ Hotmail® so you see e-mail as it arrives. • See HTML messages with pictures, colors, tables, and other formatting with Exchange and Hotmail e-mail. • Send and receive documents as e-mail attachments so you can respond to work requests while mobile. • Set up as many as six e-mail accounts so you can easily manage your work and personal e-mail from different inboxes on one phone. A Familiar Experience Windows Mobile is a familiar experience because it is the mobile version of the Microsoft applications you use on your PC. • You don’t need to learn a whole new set of applications, since many application names and icons are the same as on your PC. • E-mail messages, contacts, calendar appointments, and other content looks much like it would on your PC. • Review and edit documents on your phone and keep the original formatting intact. • Windows Mobile acts as an extension of your PC so you can do more while mobile.Stay Organized and Up to Date Microsoft® Office Outlook® Mobile helps you keep up on what’s important and quickly connect with coworkers or clients. • When you get a new phone, simply sync with your PC and all of your Microsoft Office Outlook Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks appear on the phone in seconds! • Any changes you make on your phone will automatically sync to your PC when you connect. • With Microsoft Small Business Server or Hosted Exchange, you don’t need to connect with a cable—all your e-mail messages and other Outlook information automatically syncs wirelessly!
- #6 Follow these tips to maximize performance and extend your battery life so your Windows® Mobile phone always operates at its best. Managing Running Applications Windows Mobile keeps applications running in the background even after you exit the application, making it easier to multitask. Using Task Manager daily to close running applications greatly improves phone performance and battery life. Managing Storage Memory Here are three ways you can manage how your Windows Mobile phone stores data so your phone has the memory it needs for optimal performance. Internet Explorer Mobile You can delete temporary files and history to free memory for Internet Explorer®Contacts Limit your contacts on your phone to 1,500 or less. If you have more, delete old or duplicate contacts for better memory performance. Storage Cards Save documents, songs, pictures, and applications to a storage card to conserve memory on the phone. Storage cards can be purchased separately. Managing Battery Use Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® can drain power. Turn off these wireless connections if they’re not in use, and adjust your settings to minimize power usage. Using Comm Manager The Comm Manager on Windows Mobile® 6.1 makes it easy to quickly turn wireless connections on or off. Setting the Backlight Time Out You can choose to have the backlight automatically turn off if your phone is idle. This dims the display so that it is still visible but uses less power. Setting the Display Time Out You can also choose to have the display turn off, rather than just dim, saving even more power. On this same Power Management screen, scroll down and click Display time out to choose how long the phone is idle before the display turns off. Click Done to finish. When the display times out, you will still receive e-mail and the phone will automatically “wake up” if you receive a call.
- #8 Synchronizing your Windows Mobile® phone to your Windows® PC offers the ultimate solution to your mobility needs. Transferring information is fast and easy. Because Windows Mobile includes Microsoft® Office Outlook®, it effortlessly syncs Outlook Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks. ActiveSync® 4.5 lets you synchronize information between your Windows Mobile phone and Windows XP PCs.* Be sure to install ActiveSync from the disc that came with your Windows Mobile phone, or download the most recent version from www.windowsmobile.com/activesync. Use a USB cable to connect your phone to your computer. ActiveSync should launch automatically and open a wizard to begin creating a partnership. You can synchronize Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, and other information by selecting the box next to each item. Tip: Choose Files and Media if you plan to share multimedia or office documents between your phone and computer. If you choose Files, ActiveSync creates a new folder on your desktop. Drag and drop files to this folder to sync them with your phone when you connect to ActiveSync. Click Finish to close the wizard and begin syncing your phone. Tip: You can adjust sync settings any time the phone is connected by choosing Tools > Options within ActiveSync.
- #9 Windows Mobile® Device Center lets you synchronize e-mail, Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks on a Windows Vista® PC.* If your Windows Vista computer doesn’t have Windows Mobile Device Center, you can download it from the disc that came with your phone or from www.windowsmobile.com/devicecenter Use a USB cable to connect your phone to your computer. Windows Mobile Device Center should launch automatically. On the Device Center screen, click Set up your device. You can synchronize Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, and other information by selecting the box next to each item, and then clicking Next. Choose a name for your Windows Mobile phone and click Set Up to sync your phone for the first time. The Device Center will establish a partnership with your phone and show you it is syncing.
- #10 Add a new contact to your phone, and it will be added to your Contacts list on your computer Add a new appointment to your computer, and it will update the Calendar on your phone. Tip: Syncing E-mail Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks requires Microsoft® Outlook® on the computer. *These instructions apply to synchronizing with a Windows PC. If you want to synchronize with Microsoft Exchanger Server, contact your Exchange administrator.
