Cybera's mission is to spur innovation in Alberta through the use of cyberinfrastructure for economic benefit. It supports peering between large internet service providers and institutions like the University of Alberta to facilitate data sharing. Cybera operates cyberports in several Alberta cities that provide high-speed network access and collaboration portals. It also pilots commercial supercomputing and very big data solutions for industries such as oil and gas, finance, and genomics.
