The innovation remit of the Wikimedia residency at the University of Edinburgh has been to raise awareness of Wikimedia and its sister projects, design and deliver digital skills engagement events such as editathons (groups of staff & student editors coming together to edit Wikipedia pages on a focused theme – both inside and outside the curriculum) and to work with colleagues all across the institution to find ways in which the University – as a knowledge creation organisation – can most benefit and contribute to the development of this huge open knowledge resource.
A presentation to the World Nutrition Summit 2021 (Cape Town, March 4-6) on how low-carb activists and insulin resistance scholars can make responsible contributions through their digital voices.
This concept can be applied to the wisdom of clinicians inside healthcare institutions. By gathering and sharing course content and tools between care facilities, hospitals can be connected to more than just the technical cloud. They can be connected to the wisdom of the cloud.
The Future of Libraries and Wikipedia: Connecting a circle of research and dissemination by connecting readers and editors with libraries and publishers. Big ideas to turn Wikipedia into the starting point for deep research while exposing the rich collections of libraries and archives.

This is the story of how we built a game to learn how to edit Wikipedia in under an hour with the attitude that if it's not fun people won't play it and if it doesn't leverage intrinsic motivations it won't work.
We explore four strategies to create a welcoming, supportive tone on Wikipedia: invitation, acknowledgement, showing people, and playful design. Examples from projects including Wikipedia's Teahouse, WikiWomen's Collaborative, The Wikipedia Adventure and The Grants:IdeaLab. Questions included for debate and discussion.

but they are aware of its faults and that it needs to be read critically. Ninety percent said they look up medical information on Wikipedia,
citing its ease of access and clear, concise layout among its advantages.
Among those who denied using it, some commented that they only used Wikipedia for background knowledge: in other
words, they were using it.
Stressed that they never base clinical decisions on Wikipedia alone. They saw it as a starting point, to be read critically and
consulted alongside other sources.
