Narration:
Wiggio is a wiki. What is a wiki? It’s a
website that allows multiple people to
view, edit, and collaborate on
documents and other material. How
tech-savvy do you need to be to use it?
If you can attach a file to an email, you
are ready to use wiggio.
So, what do you need to use it? The
only requirements for this “digital
classroom” are a computer, Internet,
access, and a free Wiggio account.
You will also need to use the email
addresses of anyone you wish to
“invite” to your group.

How do you get started? By visiting
the web address, www.wiggio.com, you
can create a free account by entering
basic signup information. Once you
create a group, you become the
administrator and can send invitations
to others by using their email
addresses. Only people you invite can
see what happens in this digital space,
and you get to decide how much or
how little power they have to make
changes and edits to your group.

Narration:
Once you create groups, you will be
the “administrator “ of that group. Your
groups will appear as colored circles on
the “My Groups” page. The people you
invite to one of these groups cannot
enter or see what is happening in
another group, unless you invite them.
You can manage group settings on this
page. It allows you to grant or limit
privileges of the people you invite to
the group. Note that anyone you allow
to be an “administrator” will have the
same privileges you do.

Narration:
On the home page, members can post, text, or
email comments and respond in threaded
conversations. This page also reports activity that
occurs on the site. If someone adds a link or a file,
this page will reflect it.
The shared calendar alerts group members via
email or text when a calendar event is
approaching. You can schedule events for the
whole group or for certain individuals.
Group members can also share and edit files
using the shared folders page. This page also
allows users to create files and add links.
The meetings page allows you to host web
meetings, conference calls, and chat rooms. The
web meeting offers an interactive white board and
allows file sharing in real time. Additionally, chats
are archived for reference.
The poll page allows you to poll groups in real time
and receive feedback in yes/no, short answer, or
multiple choice formats.
Members can also use the site to send messages
to the whole group or certain members. The types
of messages include text, email, an informal
“sticky note”, or a voice note.
Lastly, the to-do page offers a way to manage
group tasks, assignments, projects, and more.

Narration:
So, how do I use it? This tool can be used
in several ways:
Use it to share information. Post notes,
links, and assignments. Use the shared
calendar for due dates. Don’t limit your
interactions here to just the students. Use it
for administrative and collegial sharing
within departments and district committees.
Use it as a workspace. Students can post
and “turn in” assignments digitally, building
a digital portfolio of their work that can be
displayed at the end of the year. No more
lost papers. Students can edit and revise
both their own and their peers’ papers.
Teachers can grade papers and repost
them to the students’ folders.
Use it to collaborate. Message and meet
with people without having to travel. Only
have fifteen minutes for a quick meeting?
No problem. Log on to the group chat, and
conduct your meeting efficiently with an
archive of the meeting transcript – no more
having to keep minutes and send them out
to your department or group.
