Allen Glines: (you can accomplish good goals)
 “Math shows you that you can reach a desirable result

if you a follow a certain series of steps in a particular
order, and complete each step without making an
error.”
 “A successful mathematician is blessed with complex
problem-solving skills they can use in any avenue of
life. “
Dr. Math: A lot of jobs require math.
 “There are actually thousands of different jobs that

require some knowledge of mathematics.”
 “There are uses of mathematics in all the "hard"

sciences, such as biology, chemistry, and physics; the
"soft" sciences, such as economics, psychology, and
sociology; engineering fields, such as civil,
mechanical, and industrial engineering.”
Institute of Mathematical Sciences: Science
and math go hand in hand,
 “The study of mathematics can lead to a variety of

exciting professional careers. Basic research,
engineering, finance, business, and government
service are among the opportunities open to those
with mathematical training.”
 “Many laboratories, both government and private,

maintain independent research staffs that include
mathematicians.”
Conclusion
 There are many different jobs in today's society that

require mathematics. Over 50 percent of job
occupations require some sort of math, whether it be
addition and subtraction, or algebra. Finally, math is
used for everyday activities like grocery shopping and
leaving tips. Math is a very important life skill no
matter what you do in life. I feel that math is one of my
most important classes that I take because it applies to
so much in my life!
