Ready mix mortar contains high quality ingredients that are precisely proportioned resulting in 20-22 sqft of coverage per bag, whereas hand mix mortar provides inconsistent proportions with 13-15 sqft of coverage due to the use of poorer quality sand that contains impurities. Ready mix mortar also requires less labor for mixing and application and produces a better quality finish compared to hand mix mortar.
