The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) is the sole film classification service in the UK. Their purpose is to rate films by age classifications to ensure they are suitable for certain age groups to watch. By law, filmmakers must submit their films to the BBFC for review before showing them in the UK, and the BBFC has the power to cut content, assign age ratings, provide advice, or reject films that do not fit within the ratings.

is to make sure that films are suitable to watch and
then go on to rate each film by age classifications.
• Also by law filmmakers are not legally allowed to
show a film in the UK without it being shown to the
BBFC first and they then have the right to cut, rate,
give advice and also reject works if they do not fit into
certain age ratings
