Elijah the prophet tells King Ahab there will be no rain or dew for years due to his disobedience. God instructs Elijah to hide by the Cherith brook, where he will be fed by ravens. Elijah obeys and dwells by the brook. The ravens bring him food morning and evening. Eventually, the brook dries up due to the ongoing drought.
