This will be a contentious post. People may disagree with it, which is cool - please comment and tell me. This was first published to Instagram - check it out - @thespencerayres, But Erica Neve asked why I didn't post it to Linked In - I didn't have a good answer, so thought I'd see how it goes here too... “Unlearning” is a concept that’s really grown in popularity recently, but I’m not convinced that it’s a real thing. I STRONGLY believe that our views & beliefs can change though and that if we have a Growth Mindset, we will continually change and develop our beliefs, values and emotions systems. My simple definition of learning is "making meaning of something". By this definition even if you assess your knowledge and deem something to be incorrect, you don’t have to empty your cup, you just have to embrace the new perspective and practice. This is something I think we do way more than we realise, it’s just that it’s often very small and subtle changes that aren’t really reflected on. I’d love you thoughts about this post, I know there will be people who disagree. If you do know how I can "empty my cup", please help me - there’s loads of stuff I wish I could forget!
