This document discusses frequency division multiple access (FDMA). It begins by introducing multiple access schemes that allow many users to share radio spectrum resources simultaneously without interference. It then describes FDMA as the basic technology used in early analog cellular systems like AMPS. FDMA assigns each user its own narrow frequency channel. It requires guard bands between channels to prevent interference and the number of channels is determined by the total bandwidth and guard band width. Common applications of FDMA mentioned include walkie talkies, mobile networks, and radio broadcasting. The document lists advantages as simple operations without need for synchronization but disadvantages as inability to receive multiple transmissions simultaneously and need for expensive bandpass filters.
The document summarizes several communication theories:
1) The two step flow theory describes how information spreads from media to opinion leaders to the general public with the opinion leaders' interpretations.
2) Cultivation theory examines how heavy TV viewing shapes peoples' beliefs about social reality to reflect what is portrayed on TV.
3) Reception theory focuses on how individual readers interpret and make meaning from texts.
4) Uses and gratifications model identifies needs (diversion, identity, information, companionship) that audiences actively use media to fulfill.

The document discusses how the media product represents different social groups. It focuses on representing teenagers, using them as main characters to appeal to a wide audience that can relate to the issues portrayed. Specifically, it features a group of British teenage friends dealing with independence without caution. While some stereotypes are followed, like a setting in the woods, others are subverted, such as having the protagonist and antagonist be different genders than typically seen in thrillers. The goal is to capture a realistic portrayal of rebellious yet respectful British teenage culture and appeal to audiences both within and outside the UK.
Nirvana was an influential American rock band formed in the late 1980s. Though they only released three studio albums before splitting up in 1994, Nirvana had a significant impact on modern rock music and helped establish the grunge music scene in Seattle. The music video for their song "In Bloom" features the band performing live for an audience. It depicts them first dressed formally in suits, representing their public persona, but then tearing apart the stage while dressed in dresses, showing their true selves. The video comments on how artists may adopt different public images than who they really are.
The document provides an analysis of the music video for Nirvana's song "In Bloom". It summarizes the band's background and influence. The music video depicts Nirvana performing the song for an audience in the 1960s style, both dressed formally in suits and later tearing apart the stage dressed in dresses. This contrast suggests they put on a front publicly but feel more like destroying things. The analysis discusses how the video relates to the song lyrics and examines aspects like the narrative, the band as the star image, and the video's technical elements like black and white filming and editing to the song's beats.

2. Hi guys, today I’m going to research and
find out what a screenwriter is and why
they are so important.
So for all you who didn’t know, a
screenwriter is a person who writes a
screenplay. Oh..let me guess, you don’t
know what a screenplay is?
A screenplay is the script of a film
which usually include acting
instructions and scene directions.
So now you know what a screenwriter and
a screenplay are lets get on to the good
stuff.
3. Lets keep it simple and easy to start off with. So
basically we all have responsibilities in life don’t we?
Well so do screenwriters. They are held responsible for
developing the scripts, describing the stories, including
the detail, explaining the physical environments AND
including the moods of the characters in the film (script).
Their job is EXREMELY important because without them,
there would be no script and then no film would be
developed. The scripts come from the screenwriters OWN
ideas and imagination. You try thinking of a storyline that
doesn’t already exist in a film or that would excite
millions of people..its hard right!
Scripts are part of the production of a film or show,
screenwriters might produce a synopsis and several scenes
of a story. Then following this, a shooting script
will then be prepared.
4. What are shooting
scripts you ask?
Shooting scripts are
similar to screenplays
but they entail camera,
lighting and shot
instructions and can
change during
production.
That is all you need to
know about screen –
writers for now!
Thanks for listening
guys and I’ll see you in
my next blog :)
Fun fact guys, this is the font
used in all scripts. One script
page of this writing = one
minute filming time!
