Text is easy to forget in a multimedia platform,
but it has two potential functions:
(1) expressing specific information
(2) acting as reinforcement for informatio
n in other media.
Animation and
Interactivity
Allowing the viewer to interact with the
animated figures on the screen via the
mouse and keyboard.
Transitions may also be animated to
provide interest in a slide show.
Still Images, Audio and
Video
Audio (Sound Effects, Music)
Adding multimedia such as sound to your

What is a target audience,
and why do you need one?
• A target audience profile is simply a specific group of customers
most likely to respond positively to your promotions, products, and ser
vices.
• Target audience demographics or browsing through the types of
target audience, you need to understand why you’re segmenting your
list of would-be traffic in the first place.

• The best thing you can do is create a user
persona that helps you to really refine your au
dience.
An age-based target audience
profile
• People of different ages act in different ways.
• Interestingly, the person most likely to use your product won’t
always be the person you target.

your specialization.

Since 2007, the School of Media Studies (formerly known as the School of
Multimedia and Visual Arts) was able to produce calibrated Artist through its
Multimedia Arts program and Filmmakers through its Digital Film program.
This year, SMS aims to produce broadcast, journalism and advertising
practitioners that will make communication more informative, entertaining and
educational through its new program the Broadcast Media, Digital
Journalism and Advertising Design.
