What i have learnt during the progression from the preliminary task to my final production
1. What I have learnt during the
Progression from the Preliminary
task to my final Music Magazine
2. What I could have done to improve:
During the progression from the preliminary task to the
magazine production, I have learnt that it is key to have a
layout of clear ideas. During the procedure of my music
magazine I did not do a layout template which caused me
delay as I could not decide which layout looked best.
My Front Cover Layout plan
for the preliminary task:
On the other hand, for the Preliminary
task I had a layout for each page which
meant that I could create my magazine
straight away; it was easier and quicker.
3. For the image, I found that it was easier to have a better quality image when it was
not the background of the front cover. It also helped make the front cover clearer and
easier to understand. Also, with the style of my magazine, it was better to have an
image cropped out and put onto a plain background.

4. The Technology
For the Preliminary task I used Microsoft Publisher for each piece (Front Cover and
the Contents Page). It was not good for the editing as it was limited. However, it was
easy to layout the different sections which created the magazine.
On the other hand, for my final Music Magazine, I used Photoshop for the front
cover because of the many editing tools which were accessible. However, I used
Microsoft Publisher for the Contents page and the Double Page Spread because I
found it more convenient.
5. Overall, During the progression from the Preliminary
task to my final production, I have learnt that it
essential to have a layout plan for each section. For
example, the structure and image schedule. It makes
the procedure of creating the magazine quicker as
you have a clearer understanding of how you are
going to structure your magazine; the process is more
organized.
