Sometimes completely informal and sometimes regulated by law, real-world memberships, roles, and permissions all must be taken into account by user experience designers, service integrators, and administrators. This talk outlines the issues and provide updates on related progress in Sakai 3, Grouper, and other projects.

Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”. All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches.
