This document proposes new roles for youth that utilize anticipatory knowledge and futuring processes. It suggests allocating one-third of school and youth agency resources to promoting anticipatory thought, and two-thirds to anticipatory practices. This would reorient youth away from just the present and past, towards alternative futures. Through "Leapfrog Forward" and "Leapfrog Backward", youth could place alternative futures in virtual time to create selected alternative presents with concrete actions. This would allow youth freedom to use their imagination and create anticipatory knowledge beyond boundaries, developing explicit knowledge and new important roles in forging new futures. Schools and agencies could make futuring the basic engine of their processes.
