The admission is done on the basis of score obtained by the candidate in a national level, state level or college level entrance exams. The admission is done through the counseling process.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic Imperative
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

- 1. WEST BENGAL JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (WBJEE) West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) once a year. This test allows students to take admission into Engineering, technology, architecture, and pharmacy courses in the colleges of West Bengal. ELIGIBILITY For Engineering Courses - Candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry along with any one of Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Computer Application/ Technical Vocational as compulsory subjects. For Pharmacy Courses – Candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology as compulsory subjects. The lower age limit to appear for the exam is 17years as on 31st December of the same year. There is no upper age limit for except Marine Engineering which is 25 years. Applicant must be a citizen of India. EXAM PATTERN WJBEE exam consists of two papers– Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry) Candidates taking both Paper 1 and Paper 2 are eligible for admission in Engineering, Technology, Architecture and Pharmacy programs. Candidates taking only Paper 1 are not eligible for any course. Candidates taking only Paper 2 are eligible for admission in Pharmacy courses.
- 2. The exam is conducted in offline mode. The duration of the exam is 2 hours (120 minutes). There are total 150 multiple choice questions. The total marks for WBJEE 2021 are 200. There is negative marking for category 1 & 2 questions while no negative marking for Category 3 questions.
