Oregon Indoor Clean-Air Act (HB 2726, 2011) protects workers and the public from second hand smoke. Prohibit smoking in the workplace and within 10 feet of all entrances, exits and air-intake vents. Remove all ashtrays and other receptacles for smoking within 10 feet of entrances. Post clear signage.
Worksites that adopt a tobacco free policy in Douglas County may help fund signage. If you are interested, please contact Douglas County Public Health.
A tobacco free worksite helps employees and visitors quit by creating a healthy environment. To demonstrate support you need clear communication and leadership through planning and implementation.
