Firefox is a cross-platform web browser built on the XUL application framework. It began as an experimental offshoot of the Mozilla Suite led by Dave Hyatt and Blake Ross to address issues of bloat. Officially, Firefox runs on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux with certain system requirements. Unofficially, a portable version exists to use Firefox from removable media on restricted networks.
