This document discusses the importance of confidentiality for chaplains. It notes that chaplains must consider confidentiality at both the personal and agency level, and that confidentiality belongs to the client or employee rather than the chaplain. There are exceptions to confidentiality if the client poses a threat to themselves, others, or the larger community. The chaplain's role is to protect confidentiality in all person-to-person, agency/organization, and media related interactions.
