Task • At your table read the print version of each of the Ethical Standards on the sheet provided. • Examine carefully each piece of art. “Read” its symbols and speculate on what story it tells. • Link each poster to ONE of the Ethical Standards: care; integrity; trust; respect • Open the Discussion Guide and see whether your matches were accurate • Read the artist’s statement for each piece

- Each TC explores the site to find photos that could enhance either the LP they just created or other lessons they will be teaching in their upcoming block (Task on next slide)

- Links are on Sakai page for week 11. Each table group will receive a print statement of the Ethical Standards and a set of 4 posters, each representing one of the Ethical Standards (care; trust; respect; integrity). The titles have been removed. They will “read” the posters, looking for symbols and storylines that correspond best to one of the ethical standards. Will attach a post-it to each to record their guesses. Then they will go to the document with an artist’s statement about each and see how well their guesses aligned with the artist’s intentions. Points include the need to “read” multiple text forms and the recognition that Indigenous cultures have a sophisticated system of visual symbols to convey meaning. Must be appreciated along with written language.
