This pilot study compared the effects of vildagliptin and sitagliptin on blood glucose control in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients using continuous glucose monitoring. Results indicated that vildagliptin led to significantly lower 24-hour blood glucose levels, mean amplitude of glycemic excursions, and postprandial hyperglycemia than sitagliptin. The study highlights the importance of early treatment and better glycemic control to reduce diabetes complications, especially in the Indian population.
