Integrating IBM Business Process Manager with a hybrid MobileFirst applicationGaneshNagalingam1
This tutorial shows how to integrate IBM® Business Process Manager (BPM) Advanced V8.5.X
with a hybrid MobileFirst application using the IBM MobileFirst Platform Foundation V6.3
through a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
Integrating WebSphere Service Registry and Repository V8 with Process ServerGaneshNagalingam1
This article shows you how to perform dynamic endpoint lookup by integrating WebSphere
Service Registry and Repository V8 (WSRR) with Process Server, using the Endpoint Lookup
and Custom Mediation primitives. This integration solution has important advantages over hardcoded endpoint URLs.
Presentation I held @Codemotion Roundtable on Continuous Delivery & PaaS.
How can you bring value at speed in an ever changing context?
You have to concentrate on what is really valuable, remove waste from your processes and eliminate all your Technical Debt.
Main principles you have to follow are:
- Dev & test in production like environment
- Deliver continuously, experiment continuously
- Validate quality continuously
- Collaborate and be open to feedback
How can you do this without adopting a PaaS approach? Not impossibile but very hard.

Should I Be Writing My Own Web Experience Factory Builder? TECH-D13 from IBM ...Davalen LLC
TECH-D13: Should I write my own Builder? Increase productivity by identifying and capturing repeatable design patterns within Web Experience Factory
David Wade, Davalen’s Web Experience Factory Architect
Adam Kewley, Web Experience Factory Lead, Davalen
Description: Writing efficient code in a modular fashion is a fundamental concept in developing quality software that must grow and change as business dictates. Capturing key components for reusability enables your developers to capitalize on shared knowledge through proper use of repeatable design patterns. This session is geared towards IT managers, architects and developers who wish to not only learn how to properly capture design patterns in IBM Web Experience Factory (WEF), but when to spot the need for such mechanisms. Utilizing existing techniques and features within WEF to generate your own library of repeatable functionality. Only available at the IBM Exceptional Web Experience conference, learn from a seasoned lead architect with applicable world-class practical knowledge.
Some topics covered will include:
Breaking down code reuse: builders, models, ljo's (what is this...)
Identifying reuse areas at a project level
How to decide between a builder and a model
Other areas of code reuse (data retrievers, LJO's services)
Pitfalls to avoid
This session will describe how CICS TS v5.1 can quickly and simply support the creation of modern Mobile Ready interfaces to existing applications. The session will introduce the key technologies including the use of Liberty technology in CICS TS. We will work through a simple scenario to demonstrate the key points. The session will cover the core supporting technologies include in CICS TS v5.1 as well as the Dynamic Scripting Feature Pack and content included in the CICS TS v5.2 Open Beta.

Continuous Application Delivery to WebSphere - Featuring IBM UrbanCodeIBM UrbanCode Products
UrbanCode Deploy provides extensive capabilities for configuring WebSphere Application Server (WAS) through plug-ins: Application Deployment for WebSphere – which enables the auto-discovery of WAS cells; and Middleware Configuration for WebSphere – which allows for management of WAS configurations.
See how, when combined, UrbanCode Deploy and these plug-ins enable a rapid, controlled method for continuous delivery to WebSphere Application Servers.
A deck of slides I used for a presentation about Architecting RIAs on the Adobe Flash Platform and whether the practices applied could be used with JavaFX. I concluded the presentation with a small comparison between Flex/AIR and JavaFX.
This talk, a case study in application deployment models, was given at IBM InterConnect 2017 in Las Vegas, NV on March 21, 2017 by Lin Sun & Phil Estes of IBM Cloud.
In this talk, Lin & Phil provided a background of IBM Bluemix compute offerings across Cloud Foundry, Containers + Kubernetes, and FaaS/serverless via OpenWhisk and then used a demo application to describe the tradeoffs between using the various deployment models and technology. The application is open source and available at https://github.com/estesp/flightassist

Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.
Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
