written in HTML/XHTML, meant to be

including a homepage, generally located on

HTML
 (HyperText Markup Language)
 It’s the primary language used to write web

the layout and stylistic options), though it can
also be used to determine how that content is
CSS

 Describes how HTML elements are to be
displayed on screen, paper, or in the media.

styles that are written directly in the tag on
the document. Inline styles affect only the
tag they are applied to.

particular file. This makes it easy to apply
styles like classes or id's in order to reuse the
code
Internal Style Sheet
EXTERNAL STYLE SHEET
 External Style Sheet - This is a CSS
document that is written in a separate,
external document. The biggest
advantage to using an external style
sheet is that it can be linked to by multiple
HTML/XHTML files.
FAVICON

a shortcut icon, website icon, tab icon, URL
icon, or bookmark icon, is a file containing
one or more small icons associated with a

hovering
Example: Hyperlink
TITLE ATTRIBUTE

engines and should be carefully determined
ALT ATTRIBUTE

 The alt attribute provides alternative
information for an image if a user for some
reason cannot view it.
CALL TO ACTION
 A button, arrow or other graphic element,
which entices a user to perform a particular
action.
HERO IMAGE

promote products or services

see before exiting your website
Example: On many e-commerce, a shopping
cart is a popular exit page
INPUT FIELD
 A blank area where a user would input
specific text based information. They are
found within a form on a website.
WHITE SPACE
 It refers to the space around elements.
White space allows the elements to stand
out to the user.

 The process of affecting the visibility of a website or
webpage in web search engines like Google, Yahoo
or Bing.

CMS
 Content Management System

content of a website from a visual interface.

programming languages, CSS or HTML to easily
update a website.
