Beginning with a firm sense of social justice, a number of years working in the Civil
Service, an understanding of Trade Unions and a passion for how history informs the
present, means that my art is firmly rooted in highlighting and questioning that which
might be considered the norm or acceptable in society.
Using textiles, found objects, and traditional crafts, such as embroidery, knitting,
crochet, and patchwork, pieces are created to encourage the viewer to consider what
is truth.
Education:
Currently studying for a Bachelors of Art (Hons) in Fine Art at Staffordshire
University.

2. Previous Experience:
2014 to 2015 Parent volunteer at Ravensmead Primary School one day a
week, helping as necessary with a Year 5/6 class.
2009 to 2010 Returned to the Guide Association in charge of a Brownie Pack
2008 to Present Junior Church assistant at Norton St John’s Methodist Church,
Stoke-on-Trent
2000 to Present Qualified as an accredited Local Preacher in the Methodist
Church of Great Britain.
1995 to 2001 Warranted Leader in the Guide Association, in charge of a
Brownie Pack and Guide Unit.
1992 to 2016 Civil Servant in the Benefits Agency, Department of Education
and Skills, and Department for Work and Pensions. Starting as
an Administrative Assistant, promoted to Executive Officer
working as a Team Leader and Decision Maker.
