15. Anecdotes
“Yes, that is definitely me!! We only
lived a block from the library (our
parents bought Mrs. Mustos’s
house!!), and a favorite part of my
week was a visit to the library where
I enjoyed reading British ballet and
skating magazines and science
fiction.” “PS I still use the library a
lot!”
“The person in the picture wearing the
sombrero is not one of Charlton’s staff –
it’s the Cisco Kid. I remember as a small
boy being taken down to the parking lot of
Charlton’s Market by my mother to see the
Cisco Kid, a well-known TV character and
one of my favourites. There he was on his
horse, Diablo! What a treat!"
