2. Have you ever been to London?
Would you like to go there? Do you
know some sights or anything else you
can do there?
Next school year your class is going
to go on a trip to London. But this trip
has to be planned.
Introduction:
3. Task:
Your trip is going to be in the second week of the next
school year (21st -27th September 2015). Now you have
to plan and calculate this trip for the whole class with
two teachers to London and back.
Therefore, you work in groups of 3 or 4 people and have
8 lessons to plan the trip but you also work at home.
At the end you are going to present your plan to the rest
of the class. You show what you want to do and how
much it costs. You could use PowerPoint, posters
etc. There will be an evaluation and the group with the
best evaluation will be the winner.
4. Process:
Form groups of 3 or 4 people.
Choose one of the following options:
Your class does not want to do more than two or three
activities a day. This is the only limitation.
Try to find the cheapest plan. Your parents will be happy
when they don't have to pay so much money.
Your parents paid for the trip and you also got money from
benefits (money from the friends of the school, from a bank
etc.). All in all you have 15 000 €. You are not allowed to
spend more but you should also try to use it completely.
5. Process:
What you have to think about:
You need a flight to London and back.
You need public transportation (bus, tube).
Where do you stay? In a hotel or a hostel?
Do you have breakfast? Or breakfast and dinner?
You also need money for food and drinks.
What are you going to do? What sights will you visit? Do
they have entrance fee? When are they open?
And don't forget: It's the whole class and two
teachers travelling.
6. Evaluation:
Where will you go this summer for holidays? Now you
are able to plan a trip and know how to work
with English
webpages. Maybe you can help your parents to plan
it or even do it on your own?! Then you can decide
where
to go and what to do.
Was it easy for you to work with this WebQuest?
Did you have difficulties? Did you understand
everything?
What could be better?
7. Conclusion
You’ve done a great job and found a useful information.
Now use your note and everything we have learned to
create a great project.
