Advancing church administration through information technologyJohn LEE
The document discusses how technology is changing the landscape of the church. A young pastor today will be ministering in a very different world than the 1950s model they were trained for. Technology has created issues like information overload, online pornography, and virtual communities. However, it also provides opportunities if churches embrace it for things like online outreach, resources, and connecting a global presence. The response cannot be to ignore technology but rather use it wisely while maintaining real in-person community as the core of ministry.
This document summarizes a youth ministry training conducted at St. Thomas Church in Dagorate, Kenya. It discusses introducing 19 youth to the ministry's programs on discovering and developing talents and deploying them for God and community. Challenges mentioned include the need for more resources to expand the training. The ministry is seeking partners to help empower more young people in Africa through these programs.

One of their projects is the International Memory Project, which uses memory work to encourage families affected by HIV to communicate. Memory work involves activities that improve parent-child communication, support disclosure of HIV status, assist with succession planning, and create memory books. Evaluations found the approach reduces stigma and increases confidence, communication, and future planning among families living with HIV. Key challenges to memory work include lack of funding, unsupportive laws and policies, and limited male involvement.

How to Fix the Import Error in the Odoo 17Celine George
An import error occurs when a program fails to import a module or library, disrupting its execution. In languages like Python, this issue arises when the specified module cannot be found or accessed, hindering the program's functionality. Resolving import errors is crucial for maintaining smooth software operation and uninterrupted development processes.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2. Legacy Footfalls
Legacy Footfalls (LF) was founded in 2017 and registered in the republic of
Uganda in 2018, by Benon Katumwa. Benon was born into a family as a third
generation kid in the vicious cycle of poverty. Orphaned at the age twelve,
Benon lived a life of despair until he was taken in by a Christian family and
taught the good news of Jesus. When Benon accepted Jesus as Lord and
Savior, his life turned around. He later graduated from college with a degree
in computer science and served his local community in the areas of educa-
tion, health, entrepreneurship and missions. Benon owes his radical transfor-
mation to two things: salvation and the opportunities provided by Informa-
tion and Communications Technology (ICT) tools. In 2017 Benon launched
LF with a mission to share the gift of Salvation and ICT digital skills education
with Uganda’s under privileged children and communities.

3. Poverty in Uganda
In Uganda 1 in 10 households
are trapped in long-term
persistent poverty and are
unable to meet their most
basic needs. According to the
2016 poverty assessment
report, Uganda has reduced
monetary poverty from
31.1% to 19.7% in 2013.
However, the number of
‘insecure non-poor’ individu-
als, those with consumption
levels between the poverty
line and twice the poverty line,
has increased. 88.3% of Ugan-
dans live on less than $3.00 US
per day. More than 30.6
million people in Uganda are
vulnerable to poverty. About
four million children under
the age of five in Uganda live
in poverty.
Christianity, child
sacrifice and Islam
Uganda is a religiously diverse
nation with Christianity account-
ing for the majority of the popu-
lation. According to the 2014
census, over 84% of the popula-
tion was Christian. The report on
Christianity in Sub-Saharan
Africa shows that Uganda ranks
15th in Africa and 20th world-
wide in the ‘Most Religious’
tables. Unfortunately, Uganda
also ranks second in East Africa
and 11th in Africa in the worship
of evil spirits, sacrifices to ances-
tors, and paying homage to
traditional religious healers.
Nearly 1 in 4 Ugandans believe in
the protective power of “juju” or
witchcraft such as charms and
amulets. In recent years, there has
been a sharp rise in the
number of child
sacrifices in Uganda.
Many of these sacrific-
es are carried out by
traditional healers
(witchdoctors) and
mediums to allegedly
help their clients attain
wealth and success.
Adherents of the
Muslim faith is on a
rise from 12.7% in
2002 to 13.7% in 2014.
The traditionalists are
also increasing from
1.5% to 1.7%. Of the
84% Christians in
Uganda only 11.1% are
evangelical. The major-
ity of “Christians” in
Uganda are generally
superficial and suffer
from a disconnect as to
what it truly means to
be a Christian. This is
the reason why the
Islam faith, traditional-
ists and poverty are on
a raise in Uganda.
There is an urgent
need to evangelize
communities in
Uganda, to disciple
new believers to attain
maturity of faith and
theological strength,
and to provide
educational opportu-
nities to rural
communities to attack
the pervasive cycle of
poverty.

• Greatness Through Christ all
things are possible.
• Integrity Our work as a means
to settle need but an occasion to
shape eternal legacy with life
and immortality-for family, com-
munity, nation, continent and the
world.
• Accountability We are first accountable to
God; to those we serve; to our partners; and, to
the authorities appointed over us.

6. Focus Areas
Evangelism, ICT Education, and Community Development
Evangelism Legacy Footfalls has
missionaries in the field 6 days a week for 8
hours a day. Our evangelism takes 3 forms.
- Relational evangelism in schools where we
teach ICT skills during every school visit. The
program begins with prayer, praise and
worship, a bible story with the children, and an
alter call at the end of the program. The bio
data of those students who make a decision for
Christ is captured in the ministry database and
a mentor is assigned to them at the next visit.
- Door to door outreaches/prayer walks/home
visits. A team from LF moves into a village
visiting home-to-home working in teams of two.
One member carries a Bible track that has the
plan of Salvation on it and a card with Legacy
Footfalls contact information. The other team
member carries a follow-up form. The follow-up
form captures bio data for each person for
follow up and is entered in the ministry
database.
- Open air preaching. This takes the form of
street preaching, or mega outdoor gatherings
where hundreds of community members come
together and a traveling evangelist is invited to
preach the Word of God. The LF team handles
street preaching and partners with local church-
es to set up the mega outdoor meetings and
does follow-up work and discipleship after each
meeting.

7. Information Communication
Technology (ICT) Education ICT
education is rapidly growing
worldwide, and according to the
study conducted by the US based
Martin Prosperity institute, Uganda
has been ranked among the top 3
countries with advanced technolo-
gy and innovation capabilities in
Africa. It is second to South Africa
and followed by Madagascar. Glob-
ally, Uganda is among the 82
nations which have advanced
technology and innovation
capabilities. Peter Wakholi from
Uganda’s ICT Ministry said that
Uganda is excelling because of the
involvement of young people in
ICT projects.
Unfortunately, we hear about the
boom of ICT education in the
Ugandan capital but the story is
very different for our young people
in rural communities. Our rural
communities have never seen a
computer because there is no
power supply and good road
networks to attract development.
80% of young people in Uganda
live in rural areas and do not have a
chance to touch a computer until,
perhaps, they are adults. It is
common for a person in rural areas,
especially living in places not
covered by electricity, never to
operate a computer in their
lifetime.

9. The Bible Van is our primary resource in community outreach and development - the
combination of evangelism and ICT education. A van loaded with bibles and ICT/commu-
nication equipment to support our missionaries in the field as they reach underserved
communities. The Van rotates weekly outreaches between schools and communities. The
ICT skilling program does not 'just' bridge the digital gap. The project presents students
the Gospel of Jesus along with the new technological tools and life skills at an early age
to make them strong, empowered social beings better able to cope with their challenges.
ICT equipment is used to give visual illustration for the bible story being shared, and also
to open up the local communities to the outside world through live streaming key activi-
ties. After the bible story session, the ICT equipment is reorganized to form a neat,
modern ICT lab and children are invited to interact directly with the ICT devices.
Typically, the LF team arrives in a community with the Bible Van loaded with bibles, class
materials and ICT resources. These materials are offloaded at a school where team mem-
bers begin an evangelism and ICT lesson plan with students. Other team members may
begin door-to-door outreach. While the Van acts as the communication hub with team
members, it can also be converted into a platform for open air evangelism.
