Brief Product Overview
David R. Poole — President
ACI 350 Environmental Engineering Concrete Structures — Subcommittee K & G Secretary
3. What is Waterstop?
Waterstops play a
critical role in the
integrity of concrete
structures. They
provide a fluid-tight
diaphragm when
embedded in, and
running through
concrete joints.
5. Hydrophobic Waterstop (continued)
TPV — Thermoplastic Vulcanizate
waterstop is used most frequently
in applications requiring resistance
to fuels, solvents, ozone, acids,
and other aqueous chemical
solutions (EPA Title 40).
Has a much higher operating
temperature rating than standard
PVC.
Additional applications include
projects requiring (or desiring) NSF
61 certification for drinking water
safety or GreenSpec® listing.
Rubber/plastic alloy. Fully heat-
weldable.
6. Hydrophobic Waterstop (continued)
Earth Shield® TPV Waterstop has
the best physical properties of any
commercially available waterstop,
regardless of polymer.
Wide service temperature rating.
Proven chemical resistance per
ASTM D471 testing.
